After getting all the patches updated (a few at a time – otherwise it froze again), I was finally rewarded with the download for Windows 7 Service Pack 1.
I think I got onto all of this because I have a Canon MultiPass/Smartbase MP730 and the darn drivers do not work for the fax on Win7 64-bit (my work laptop), but do on Win7 32-bit (my desktop).
