I’ve tried a few media servers now: twonkymedia, tversity, squeezebox. I’m beginning to think that twonkymedia is the best of those. Synology and QNAP think the same, as that is the server they decided to use.
Best UPNP / DLNA player I’ve found so far on the iPad is airplayer. It plays all formats – including iTunes DRM files.
